When you “see” the monster in the trailer, when you slow it down and look at it frame by frame you can see that at the top of the screen is the thigh and the leg is double jointed with its foot stomping down onto something. You can tell its a foot cause you can clearly make out what look like claws at 1:29 near the bottom of the screen
Take a look at the secound trailer when the woman is being held by the dudes in the bio suits if you look closley and pause at the right time her body expands. LIKE A MUTATION . seriously check it out.

Cant believe you guys cant see that the woman with the two guys in the bio-suits are not stabbing her, if you play it frame-by-frame you can see she explodes or at least her abdomen area expands rapidly like she is bloated before they cut from the scene.
Dude Brad that girl with the hazmat guys…theyre not stabbing or punching her if you use the scroll and check out frame by frame youll see something else..its hard at 1st but this girl is either morphing into something or shes about to blow up..you can see in the last frame before it goes to black for bout a sec then to rob and whoever in the store…the girl is screaming like something it happening to her and she is in some kind of pain (maybe too much of everyones fav new mixxer) while the two guys are holding her (either they trying to keep her still or move her somewhere) then you can see her body changing or something and you hear a weird sound like something the blob would make.. maybe if this slusho thing is turely something to do with the movie and she drunk it not only can this monster smell it in you cos we all know slusho is people but if you don’t get a cure for if soon it breaks down your body and you really are slusho..either way check it out even if you don’t see it which you have too just listen for that noise…oh and a bonus theres is this weird guy that pops up on alot of the myspace pages of rob and the gang def jamies, the creepy guy with the white mask on his user name is D351, well he has a few pix of a pretty interesting looking monster action figure you should def check it out..im mean seeing how you can’t friend any of them well atleast they wont friend you back you know JJ had it done to either fools us or a hint some a geek like me to find anyway let me know what you think my email is lvolcoml@yahoo.com
Am i the only one that sees and hears something when the two hazmat guys are restraining that girl?
And I say restraining because the more I look at it the more I dont think they’re doing anything more. There is the sound of (presumably) her screaming followed by an almost insecticide screech similar to the one hear towards the end of the trailer. All the while the hazmat guys are struggling to keep her restrained as she thrashes violently. Finally, we see the woman’s figure bulge out suddenly and violently accompanied by a fleshy bubbling sound. This, to me, suggests infestation/infection of human hosts which would further explain the hazmat suits.
Second, to “jacob”: We’ve already seen the fake posters…
Third: When the bridge breaks, its breaking because something is rising up below it…
Fourth: Little monsters MUST exist since the BIG monster can’t fit down a subway tunnel (Thats where we see Rob, Lena, and whats-her-name, when we hear the “buzzing” noise). Little monsters would also explain the released set photos of the subway… Particularly the photo of Rob and that one chick fighting to close the maintenance door that leads out of the subway.
personally i would like to see the movie going down a completely new path.
what about rob and beth and all the other guys just being regular guys. i mean think about it.
1.) the tailer starts with sentences in the past. “the camera was found”
2.) nothing to date has pointed in a direction that rob or one of the other guys is “special” in any sort of way.
3.) imagine you being on a farewell party, someone has a camera, he/she is kind of good using it and it’s kind of his/her hobby. all of a sudden there is this chaos going round and someone’s got split up from the group. there is always some “hero” trying to “rescue” the missing person, even if it is “mid-town area”. that could be where it all starts. a camera that is later being recovered from “the area formaly know as central park”
3.) today everyone’s equiped with digital cameras and mobile phone cameras.
4.) i think the above would be a great! A perfect mix of “Blairwitch Project vs. Godzilla (US)”
true, there is missing information (how did she get to the mid-town area all of a sudden), but it is just a trailer. it is teasing us and we won’t know for sure if we don’t see the movie.
Wow the more I look at it, the more it’s clearly nothing even close to a turtle. It’s my strong opinion that if you want to see the monster, concentrate only on the green! If you look at the enlarged 1080, you start to see that everything in brown is just building debris.
I think what we’re looking at is the bottom of some sort of dome/shell-like thing, and then an upper thigh connected just below the shell, like Brueckl said. You can even see some sort of ribbing on the thigh, and a joint. Not knowing any other way to say this, we’re looking at the creature’s ass.
Also, in part 2, you really should say something about how that woman’s body rapidly expands as she’s being punched/stabbed by the hazmat man. I think that’s important.

slusho.jp is always good for a visit. I noticed something interesting. when visiting the “happy talk” section i read a couple of quotes. quite a few have to do with sea, water and ocean stuff: “nothing better than a deep sea slusho drink”, “Seabed’s Nectar changed my way of thinking” !! now, remember the picture with the asian looking chef on 1-18-08.com flipped around and transleted it states something about a “deep sea crab”.
now what about that hazmat teams in the trailer and stills and the slusho t-shirt guy. maybe there is something in the movie like a “Alien” theme: eggs and offsprings of an unknown origin are used as flavors for soft drinks and cooking. now the “queen” gets angry and takes revenge…

I think, because of the recent pics involving Marlena and the hazmat guys, that the girl behind the curtain is Marlena Diamond. The guy right before the hazmat bit said (I think) “Turn that camera” while turning the camera away from Rob and the others. And by the way that person was screaming, they did NOT want to be injected/stabbed/impaled by those guys.
I don’t think the monster is actually kicking anything over- I think it is unintentionally (not the whole time of course) taking chunks out of the buildings it goes by. Look at the poster- There are chunks out of the buildings at its arm level (maybe that’s its arm who knows) and there are pieces of building on the ground like the one falling from the Woolworth building. Which brings up the point that that scene is in front of the Woolworth building, implying that it is right after the throwing of the head. I think it’s closer to the building that where the head landed as you can’t see it.
As for the alien thing, I’ve been doubting for the pure fact that it’s been done so many times. Again, who knows…

1. About half way through the video there is a clip of a military guard talking to the characters, one of the girls has her palms against the wall as if she is about to get frisked, the guard says something to the effect of, “there’s nothing we can do for you here”. But the wierd thing is, his whole head is blurred out. Like you see on Cops and shows like that, for privacy issues. Now, why would they blur his head out. That means, in the context of the story, people found this videotape, retrieved at the “Cloverfield” site and went out of their way to blur this one individuals head out. We see a lot of people in this trailer and his face is the only one blurred. Very wierd. Any ideas?
2. I strongly believe one of two things. Either the attack that everyone heard in Robs apartment is not the first attack or the military/government new that this attack was going to happen. One of these two things has to be the case. Why? Watch the trailer again. After Rob gives his “7 hours ago” shpeel to the camera it cuts to a birds eye view of the city. There is an explosion on the street and then a military jet flys very close to the camera. That explosion on the street, is the head of the statue of liberty. Slow it down, you can see it. Now I don’t care how ready the city of new york is, there is no way that they could scramble jets and get them to that location that fast. So, do you think they knew in advance, or that other attacks happened around the world maybe, an hour or so before the NY attack? let me know

I think what Abrams is trying to do is distract everyone with a tiny sighting of the monster so we don’t see all the other things in the trailer.
At 1:29 we see the monster but if you look at the side of the third building from the left the words “the text” which I feel points us to the opining of the trailer for more information on the monsters identity/destination,
The opening text says “camera retrieved at incident site U.S. 447 area formally known as central park” from this we can assume that this is where Rob and his friends story stops. This idea is supported by the comment at :57-:60 “we can not go into the middle of the city” central park ( as its name suggests) is near the center of New York where it appears the creature is moving towards.

A few things that bothered me with the theories he had on this one. The main one being about the scene where the guys in the bio suites are supposedly stabbing that one person behind the screen. Now it’s pretty obvious and logical that bio suit guys just don’t stab people for the hell of it. No matter if they’re infected by what ever monkey virus is out. Now if you had any type of intelligence, then you would know that obviously that person is resisting containment. Because thats what bio suit guys do. They they to get a sample of what ever virus is out an try to figure out what it is. In order to do that they need a specimen and well from the looks of it, Lizzy Kaplan’s character is infected and she is the obvious choice. I guess that was my one complaint. But the one thing that pisses me of every single time I see a youtube vid posted by brad; is the gay nu-metal song that he puts on at the starting of every vid. If you look at www.slusho.jp which is connected to Cloverfield, it looks at first like a stupid “slurpee” website but if you go a little deeper into it you read that they have dicovered a “deep sea ingredient unique to anything else” that makes there drinks incredibly delicious. They call it seabed necter.
Now it also says that when you drink lots of it you will “grow into small whale” which could explain the woman “expanding” when “stabbed” by the biohazard team. It also explains the picture of the Japanese guy holding the pan of “goo” on www.1-18-08.com as being a Slusho vendor.
My guess is this Slusho drink is a big problem in the movie. Probably with the millions of people drinking it in New York being it such a concentrated area it probably attracted a Sea Beast/Sea Monster. And everyone is probably drinking it’s delicious eggs or something. Which has made it very angry. And because the drink needs to be frozen like a slurpee it probably messes people up once the digest the drink and the necter warms up.
Oh wow. You’re right, Monkey7. I just did a Wikepedia search on the Cetus constellation and it seems pretty logical. It would provide explanation and a good background story to the monster instead of it being some random sea creature that was slapped down on paper.

Did any of you stop to consider that there no clues at all and this is just a run of the mill movie trailer? By simply leaving out any telling information the rest of us have let our imaginations run wild making things up. Because contrary to what Brad or anyone else says about the official web sites and the teaser and trailer…..NOTHING is confirmed. No kind of monster (whale, alien, turtle, whatever), no small monsters, no slusho link, no alien, no eggs of the creature, NOTHING. This is all stuff that everyone else has come up with based on kibbles and bits of information that no one really knows is even related to how it will all actually play out. There could be some seriously disappointed people out there when this is over. For all you know the trailer is the only part of the movie that is handheld and that the rest is filmed in regular Hollywood fashion. Take the scene where the jets drop the bombs….that was filmed from the air….but all our characters are on the steet at that point or in the subways…..who shot that? You and I are the ones who have kept all this going with our imaginations. Sit back and think about that.

Despite how dissapointing that may be, i still want to know why she just kept on saying “the cause” 50 times in her god damn video. If it wasnt related in some way or if it didnt lead to a clue, it wouldnt be in the video. Once again, just calm the fuck down, take your prozac, and look for some god damn informaion instead of looking for people to fuckin talk shit to. Really man, noone is interested in reading this bullshit that we go back and forth with each other with. It really isnt worth it at all. I think the monster is going to be Cthulhu still. Just by checking out www.theasylum.cc (thank you Dan from MEdia Darling) , you can see the trailer for MONSTER (cloverfield RIP OFF), and there is nothing but a huge set of tentacles, leading us to believe that it is a squidlike monster. The only reason i am using that rip off of a movie as a reference for our film, is because of the fact that they have ripped off almost every major flick thats coming out in the next 6 months. Like for instance, I AM OMEGA ( I AM LEGEND RIP OFF), or 666: the child ( THE OMEN RIP OFF) or TRANSMORPHERS (GUESS), or AVH: Alien Vs Hunter(AVP RIP OFF), or HILLSIDE CANNIBALS(the hills have eyes), or DRAGON (Eragon) or The DaVinci Conspiracy (DaVinci Code), or SNAKES ON A TRAIN (DuH), or PIRATES OF TREASURE ISLAND (Yeah, that one too.). YOU GET THE IDEA. They rip these movies off and change probably one small detail in the flick, and they claim it to be a completely original concept. So im basing my theory on the fact that the asylum is crap, and they have to know at least a little something about Cloverfield in order to rip it off, so ill assume that its got to be either Cthulhu, or something really friggin similar to Cthulhu.
Anyways, i know i take up alot of space and i type way too much, so ill just assume you guys get the picture and go check it out and draw your own conclusions.

If anybody has ordered any items of clothing from the Slusho! website recently, they have received a Top Secret letter from tagruato hidden inside, and on the back of the “Memo”, so to speak, is a handwritten message from someone called “The Whistle Blower”. When you “see” the monster in the trailer, when you slow it down and look at it frame by frame you can see that at the top of the screen is the thigh and the leg is double jointed with its foot stomping down onto something. You can tell its a foot cause you can clearly make out what look like claws at 1:29 near the bottom of the screen

Am i the only one that sees and hears something when the two hazmat guys are restraining that girl?
And I say restraining because the more I look at it the more I dont think they’re doing anything more. There is the sound of (presumably) her screaming followed by an almost insecticide screech similar to the one hear towards the end of the trailer. All the while the hazmat guys are struggling to keep her restrained as she thrashes violently. Finally, we see the woman’s figure bulge out suddenly and violently accompanied by a fleshy bubbling sound. This, to me, suggests infestation/infection of human hosts which would further explain the hazmat suits.
First of all… Good job Brad.
Second, to “jacob”: We’ve already seen the fake posters…
Third: When the bridge breaks, its breaking because something is rising up below it…
Fourth: Little monsters MUST exist since the BIG monster can’t fit down a subway tunnel (Thats where we see Rob, Lena, and whats-her-name, when we hear the “buzzing” noise). Little monsters would also explain the released set photos of the subway… Particularly the photo of Rob and that one chick fighting to close the maintenance door that leads out of the subway.
Fifth (and last): I can’t wait to see this movie.
personally i would like to see the movie going down a completely new path.
what about rob and beth and all the other guys just being regular guys. i mean think about it.
1.) the tailer starts with sentences in the past. “the camera was found”
2.) nothing to date has pointed in a direction that rob or one of the other guys is “special” in any sort of way.
3.) imagine you being on a farewell party, someone has a camera, he/she is kind of good using it and it’s kind of his/her hobby. all of a sudden there is this chaos going round and someone’s got split up from the group. there is always some “hero” trying to “rescue” the missing person, even if it is “mid-town area”. that could be where it all starts. a camera that is later being recovered from “the area formaly know as central park”
3.) today everyone’s equiped with digital cameras and mobile phone cameras.
4.) i think the above would be a great! A perfect mix of “Blairwitch Project vs. Godzilla (US)”
true, there is missing information (how did she get to the mid-town area all of a sudden), but it is just a trailer. it is teasing us and we won’t know for sure if we don’t see the movie.

Wow the more I look at it, the more it’s clearly nothing even close to a turtle. It’s my strong opinion that if you want to see the monster, concentrate only on the green! If you look at the enlarged 1080, you start to see that everything in brown is just building debris.
I think what we’re looking at is the bottom of some sort of dome/shell-like thing, and then an upper thigh connected just below the shell, like Brueckl said. You can even see some sort of ribbing on the thigh, and a joint. Not knowing any other way to say this, we’re looking at the creature’s ass.
Also, in part 2, you really should say something about how that woman’s body rapidly expands as she’s being punched/stabbed by the hazmat man. I think that’s important.

I noticed something interesting. when visiting the “happy talk” section i read a couple of quotes. quite a few have to do with sea, water and ocean stuff: “nothing better than a deep sea slusho drink”, “Seabed’s Nectar changed my way of thinking” !! now, remember the picture with the asian looking chef on 1-18-08.com flipped around and transleted it states something about a “deep sea crab”.

I think, because of the recent pics involving Marlena and the hazmat guys, that the girl behind the curtain is Marlena Diamond. The guy right before the hazmat bit said (I think) “Turn that camera” while turning the camera away from Rob and the others. And by the way that person was screaming, they did NOT want to be injected/stabbed/impaled by those guys.
I don’t think the monster is actually kicking anything over- I think it is unintentionally (not the whole time of course) taking chunks out of the buildings it goes by. Look at the poster- There are chunks out of the buildings at its arm level (maybe that’s its arm who knows) and there are pieces of building on the ground like the one falling from the Woolworth building. Which brings up the point that that scene is in front of the Woolworth building, implying that it is right after the throwing of the head. I think it’s closer to the building that where the head landed as you can’t see it.
As for the alien thing, I’ve been doubting for the pure fact that it’s been done so many times. Again, who knows…

1. About half way through the video there is a clip of a military guard talking to the characters, one of the girls has her palms against the wall as if she is about to get frisked, the guard says something to the effect of, “there’s nothing we can do for you here”. But the wierd thing is, his whole head is blurred out. Like you see on Cops and shows like that, for privacy issues. Now, why would they blur his head out. That means, in the context of the story, people found this videotape, retrieved at the “Cloverfield” site and went out of their way to blur this one individuals head out. We see a lot of people in this trailer and his face is the only one blurred. Very wierd. Any ideas?
2. I strongly believe one of two things. Either the attack that everyone heard in Robs apartment is not the first attack or the military/government new that this attack was going to happen. One of these two things has to be the case. Why? Watch the trailer again. After Rob gives his “7 hours ago” shpeel to the camera it cuts to a birds eye view of the city. There is an explosion on the street and then a military jet flys very close to the camera. That explosion on the street, is the head of the statue of liberty. Slow it down, you can see it. Now I don’t care how ready the city of new york is, there is no way that they could scramble jets and get them to that location that fast. So, do you think they knew in advance, or that other attacks happened around the world maybe, an hour or so before the NY attack? let me know

I think what Abrams is trying to do is distract everyone with a tiny sighting of the monster so we don’t see all the other things in the trailer.
At 1:29 we see the monster but if you look at the side of the third building from the left the words “the text” which I feel points us to the opining of the trailer for more information on the monsters identity/destination,
The opening text says “camera retrieved at incident site U.S. 447 area formally known as central park” from this we can assume that this is where Rob and his friends story stops. This idea is supported by the comment at :57-:60 “we can not go into the middle of the city” central park ( as its name suggests) is near the center of New York where it appears the creature is moving towards.
Rumor has it that this movie will not be released until 02/08/08 here in the US. Movie theater scoreboards say so.

The minimonsters are almost confirmed at this point. Those men in biosuits are not stabbing a girl. I you look at the scene again, you can see the woman’s stomach expand as she screams. I personally think that something may be emerging from her. Judging by the growl in the tunnel and the clawmarks on the girl’s arm, we could be seeing an Aliens esque hoarde of minimonsters.

A few things that bothered me with the theories he had on this one. The main one being about the scene where the guys in the bio suites are supposedly stabbing that one person behind the screen. Now it’s pretty obvious and logical that bio suit guys just don’t stab people for the hell of it. No matter if they’re infected by what ever monkey virus is out. Now if you had any type of intelligence, then you would know that obviously that person is resisting containment. Because thats what bio suit guys do. They they to get a sample of what ever virus is out an try to figure out what it is. In order to do that they need a specimen and well from the looks of it, Lizzy Kaplan’s character is infected and she is the obvious choice. I guess that was my one complaint. But the one thing that pisses me of every single time I see a youtube vid posted by brad; is the gay nu-metal song that he puts on at the starting of every vid. I beleive that the monster was an underwater creature that consumed the key substance in (slusho)for a very long time.After being disturbed by: Being awakened, or being robbed and deprived of his food(slusho substance), it now seeks out to find and feed on the slusho.So wether it is inside the humans or not, he will find and eat the substance. I think that the substance is the key to the movie, not the monster. If you look at www.slusho.jp which is connected to Cloverfield, it looks at first like a stupid “slurpee” website but if you go a little deeper into it you read that they have dicovered a “deep sea ingredient unique to anything else” that makes there drinks incredibly delicious. They call it seabed necter.
Now it also says that when you drink lots of it you will “grow into small whale” which could explain the woman “expanding” when “stabbed” by the biohazard team. It also explains the picture of the Japanese guy holding the pan of “goo” on www.1-18-08.com as being a Slusho vendor.
My guess is this Slusho drink is a big problem in the movie. Probably with the millions of people drinking it in New York being it such a concentrated area it probably attracted a Sea Beast/Sea Monster. And everyone is probably drinking it’s delicious eggs or something. Which has made it very angry. And because the drink needs to be frozen like a slurpee it probably messes people up once the digest the drink and the necter warms up.
Oh wow. You’re right, Monkey7. I just did a Wikepedia search on the Cetus constellation and it seems pretty logical. It would provide explanation and a good background story to the monster instead of it being some random sea creature that was slapped down on paper.
Although it does make me wonder how J.J. Abrams would have come across this mythical creature unless he sat down at his computer and just typed in “mythical sea creatures”.

My band is playing a club here in Baltimore, and i made a flier for the show featuring a Giant Crab attacking Baltimore. I used Cloverfield for inspiration. I’ve been watching this site since mad long ago.

Like that of a Giant Creature. check it out, if you watch Frame by frame of the new trailer, that same tux guy shot is in it.. like right in the begining. about like a half second quick shot, but its in motion. If you look at the buildings in the background, you might be able to check it out. Lemme know what you think. To check out the other view of the monster from the side as its walking in between buildings. This view in slow motion shows that it has hind legs and its fuckin huge. The first link that i posted shows that it has tentacles(i think) and also shows its face. Its the scene of the bridge where its being destroyed, and for a flash second, it shows the monster. Did any of you stop to consider that there no clues at all and this is just a run of the mill movie trailer? By simply leaving out any telling information the rest of us have let our imaginations run wild making things up. Because contrary to what Brad or anyone else says about the official web sites and the teaser and trailer…..NOTHING is confirmed. No kind of monster (whale, alien, turtle, whatever), no small monsters, no slusho link, no alien, no eggs of the creature, NOTHING. This is all stuff that everyone else has come up with based on kibbles and bits of information that no one really knows is even related to how it will all actually play out. There could be some seriously disappointed people out there when this is over. For all you know the trailer is the only part of the movie that is handheld and that the rest is filmed in regular Hollywood fashion. Take the scene where the jets drop the bombs….that was filmed from the air….but all our characters are on the steet at that point or in the subways…..who shot that? You and I are the ones who have kept all this going with our imaginations. Sit back and think about that.

I think the monster is going to be Cthulhu still. Just by checking out www.theasylum.cc (thank you Dan from MEdia Darling) , you can see the trailer for MONSTER (cloverfield RIP OFF), and there is nothing but a huge set of tentacles, leading us to believe that it is a squidlike monster. The only reason i am using that rip off of a movie as a reference for our film, is because of the fact that they have ripped off almost every major flick thats coming out in the next 6 months. Like for instance, I AM OMEGA ( I AM LEGEND RIP OFF), or 666: the child ( THE OMEN RIP OFF) or TRANSMORPHERS (GUESS), or AVH: Alien Vs Hunter(AVP RIP OFF), or HILLSIDE CANNIBALS(the hills have eyes), or DRAGON (Eragon) or The DaVinci Conspiracy (DaVinci Code), or SNAKES ON A TRAIN (DuH), or PIRATES OF TREASURE ISLAND (Yeah, that one too.). YOU GET THE IDEA. They rip these movies off and change probably one small detail in the flick, and they claim it to be a completely original concept. So im basing my theory on the fact that the asylum is crap, and they have to know at least a little something about Cloverfield in order to rip it off, so ill assume that its got to be either Cthulhu, or something really friggin similar to Cthulhu.

If anybody has ordered any items of clothing from the Slusho! website recently, they have received a Top Secret letter from tagruato hidden inside, and on the back of the “Memo”, so to speak, is a handwritten message from someone called “The Whistle Blower”.
